Endovascular repair of aorto-pulmonary shunting after shotgun injury

A 34-year-old male victim of a shotgun injury to his left hemithorax at the age of 12 years survived a bullet-induced destruction of the T6 vertebral body with resulting complete paraplegia. After recovering from this trauma he slowly developed cardiac failure on retrospect; no cardiovascular disorder was identified at the time.
