EuroPCR 2016 Great Debate - extending TAVI to low risk patients: Jean François Obadia

Summary

As a Cardiac Surgeon leading a Heart Valve Centre in Lyon, France, Jean Francois Obadia is involved in both TAVI techniques including the femoral percutaneous approach as well as surgical valve replacement. His main issue of concern during the Great Debate: discussing post-TAVI long-term follow-up, especially for young patients.

“Today, implanting a TAVI in a patient is a kind of lottery. We have absolutely no evidence that those valves will last for several years. The debate will be very interesting on that part“.
