PCR Board Members receive recognition at ESC Congress 2017

William Wijns, PCR Chair and EuroPCR and AfricaPCR Co-Director, and Marie-Claude Morice, Senior Consulting Adviser to EuroPCR, were both distinguished at ESC Congress 2017 in Barcelona for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.

ESC Gold Medal to William Wijns

William Wijns is Co-Director of EuroPCR and Chairman of PCR. He is Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Professor in Interventional Cardiology at the Lambe Institute for Translational Medicine, Curam, and Saolta University Healthcare Group, National University of Ireland Galway. He has served at the ESC in various positions, including Vice-President, Scientific Programme Chair, and was also a President of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiac Intervention (EAPCI).

Marie-Claude Morice to deliver the Andreas Grüntzig Lecture on Interventional Cardiology

Marie-Claude Morice is Senior Consulting Advisor to EuroPCR and a world-renowned interventional cardiologist. She is currently the President and Medical Director of the European Center for Caxrdiovascular Research (CERC) and works at the Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud, Massy, France. She has acted as Primary Investigator in several landmark research trials such as RAVEL and SYNTAX.
