World Heart Day 2017: 29 September
Born in 2000, World Heart Day is an initiative of the World Heart Federation. All over the World – in nearly 100 countries - member organisations will set up thousands of educational activities and events in order everyone feels involved in protecting themselves from cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide killing 17.5 million a year.
People will be invited to take part to walks, runs or rope-skip sessions, informative debates, and be offered health checks. The objective is to encourage daily simple changes as many cardiovascular diseases are preventable by addressing behavioural risk factors: being more active, not smoking, eating more healthily and limit alcohol.
