According to current guidelines, primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) is the preferred form of reperfusion treatment for patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)1. This article focuses on technical aspects of PPCI and current recommendations for the use of antithrombotic and antiplatelet agents during interventional treatment of STEMI.
