New embolic protection device wins Jon DeHaan Foundation Award

William Wijns and Robert Schwartz talk to this year’s Jon DeHaan Foundation Award winner, Giora Weisz, from the Montefiore Medical Center in New York, about his winning embolic protection device for use in TAVI procedures. The award is presented for the best interventional technology project to encourage innovation in the area and benefit more patients in the future. Members of the EuroPCR audience and expert jurors and panellists chose Weisz as the winner from a shortlist of six candidates. Weisz explains his objective in developing the device was “to treat patients safely”.
