The Academy’s first initiative is two independent educational programmes supported by Meril and hosted in their network of Regional academic centres. The programmes focus on coronary interventions and structural heart disease, each one offering a one-year pathway that combines onsite courses with virtual classrooms. They will run over a five-year period and aim to provide high-quality education to a total of 1,400+ physicians across all continents.

✨ Learning objectives
The programmes are shaped to foster:
- Mastery of techniques and technology
- Optimised patient outcomes
- Global networking and collaboration
The one-year pathways
For both Coronary Interventions and Structural Heart Disease:

Browse the learning objectives for each pathway:
- Mastery of advanced PCI techniques and technologies
- Develop understanding and expertise in advanced intervention techniques, including complex coronary procedures to optimise procedural outcomes.
- Optimised patient outcomes
- Apply evidence-based practices and personalized approaches to ensure safety and efficacy in the management of diverse patient populations, with a focus on enhancing clinical outcomes.
- Global networking and collaboration
- Build a global community of interventional cardiologists by fostering connections across borders, encouraging peer-to-peer learning, and sharing innovations to advance the field of coronary interventions worldwide.
- Mastery of techniques and technology
- Develop expertise in structural heart interventions with special focus on advanced transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) - learning how to optimise pre-procedural planning, deliver a patient-tailored approach, manage challenging scenarios, integrate advanced cardiac imaging and ultimately optimise procedural outcomes.
- Optimised patient outcomes
- Apply evidence-based practices and patient-centered approaches to manage complex structural heart conditions and TAVI procedures, focusing on minimising complications, improving procedural safety, and enhancing long-term outcomes for diverse patient populations.
- Global networking and collaboration
- Foster a global community of structural heart interventionists through international networking, peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, and sharing of innovations to advance the field and improve care for patients with structural heart disease.
