Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
The PCRonline.com website is a free service, and third-party advertising helps us offset the significant costs of maintaining that free service. However, we also focus specifically on advertising solutions which we believe can add genuine value to the experience of visitors to this site. Naturally, not every advertisement will be of interest to every visitor, but we make an effort to ensure that, on balance, the presence of advertisements enhances rather than detracts from our site.
We use Google's Double Click for Publishers ad management platform to display advertisements on our website and to allow for ad performance tracking. All advertisements are subject to an approval process to ensure that they remain contextual to the interest of our highly targeted website audience. Advertisements may not be published by third parties anywhere on the website - we do not use Google's open Display Network. All advertisements are clearly marked as such by a visible label. We do not accept advertisements that make false claims about potential health benefits, contain comparative advertising or unfavourable references to other companies.
Our editorial content is never influenced by the funding sources / sponsored ads. The majority of funding for PCRonline is derived from a part of attendees' fees of EuroPCR Course and other courses. The other sources of funding are unrestricted sponsorships and adverts from medical device and pharmaceutical companies. Any sponsored editorial content that is published on the website is always clearly marked as such, with the name of the sponsor clearly visible. Promoted editorial content is clearly marked as such and contains the indication "Promoted content" so as to ensure absolute transparency to all website visitors.
