Systematic imaging has shown silent injury to the brain in the vast majority of TAVI patients. From explaining the mechanical causes and the rates of clinical and silent injury to the brain, Alexandra Lansky discusses the different concepts of the SENTINAL and TriGUARD cerebral embolic protection devices and whether all TAVI patients should be protected. “Take care of the brain” is her take-home message.
