EuroIntervention Achieves Record Impact Factor of 9.5

Toulouse, FRANCE: Clarivate, publisher of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) has announced the new Impact Factor for EuroIntervention of 9.5, putting it in the top percentile of academic publications published today.

Today’s announcement of EuroIntervention’s Impact Factor of 9.5 reflecting citations of clinical and academic articles published over the last 2 years places EuroIntervention as one of the most cited publications in the field of interventional cardiology.

This new Impact Factor is testimony to the solid reputation and influence the Journal has forged over its more than 20 years of existence and reinforces the trajectory of excellence that has been EuroIntervention’s since its creation as the Journal of EuroPCR, the world’s leading interventional cardiology Course. EuroIntervention remains committed to the PCR principle of “by and for” the community that created it.

EuroIntervention: 9.5 Impact Factor 2024

When Prof. Davide Capodanno took over as Editor-in-Chief of EuroIntervention in January of 2020 he said that “the formula of the Impact Factor is a mathematical exercise: publishing fewer articles does not increase the Impact Factor if this results in fewer citations; increasing citations does not increase the Impact Factor if in doing so you end up with publishing a greater number of articles.

For Prof. Capodanno and the Editorial Board, the answer to this formula was as evident as it was challenging, that there was only one way to respond, and that was “as simple as three words – Publishing good articles!”

Today, with this new Impact Factor Prof. Capodanno expressed his “gratitude to all our collaborators and readers who have chosen EuroIntervention” but noted that “we must keep in mind a traditional metric such as the Impact Factor, is not a static but a dynamic measure that varies with each year” and “though we are rightfully proud of what we have achieved today, the true value of our current Impact Factor will be seen in the future, spurring us on to do even better and continue to publish cutting-edge clinical articles, editorials and expert commentaries that inform and inspire our community.”
