EDUCATION RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEETING ORGANISATION

- After completing his medical studies and doctoral degree at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg i. Br. in 2003, Prof. Nef was postgraduated at the Kerckhoff Heart Center in Bad Nauheim, Germany, in the Department of Cardiology (Director: Prof. Dr. C. Hamm) and after transferring at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen in internal medicine and cardiology. Since May 2010 he is an associate professor of internal medicine. Since his promotion to an adjunct professor at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, Germany, in July 2012 he has served as vice director of the University hospital, Medical Clinic I, Department of Cardiology and is now responsible for the cathlab.

- Since 2015 he is vice president of the Working Group on Interventional Cardiology (AGIK) of the German Society of Cardiology.

- His interests spans from coronary interventions to interventional treatment of structural heart disease. Special interests are new stent technologies and intravascular imaging.

ACTIVE AREAS OF RESEARCH

- Prof. Holger Nef has a very high interest in clinical research and has actively participated in the development of the Bioresorbable scaffolds course on PCR edu online.
