TAVR in challenging anatomies
With the collaboration of the Belgian Working Group of Interventional Cardiology (BWGIC), Saudi Arabian Cardiac Intervention Society and Scottish Cardiac Society
Summary
This session focuses on navigating TAVR procedures in complex anatomical scenarios. It covers topics such as optimizing the position of a TAVR valve in a stentless bioprosthesis, managing an unexpected deep position of a TAVR implant, dealing with a completely radiolucent failing surgical bioprosthetic valve, and addressing the challenges of high-risk coronary occlusion. The session features case presentations and discussions, providing valuable insights and strategies for managing these challenging TAVR cases.
Learning Objectives
- To learn how to optimise the position of a TAVR valve in a stentless bioprosthesis
- To learn how to handle an unexpected deep position of a TAVR implant
- To learn how to deal with a completely radiolucent failing surgical bioprosthetic valve
- To learn how to manage patients at high-risk of coronary occlusion and complications arising from protecting coronaries
