Angiograms
1. Baseline angio
Baseline angio: Contrast aortography confirms the optimal projection with 3 cusps aligned.
2. Introducing into abdominal aorta
SAPIEN XT advancement: A SAPIEN XT transcatheter valve is advanced through the eSheath into the abdominal aorta.
3. Positioning in the aortic root
SAPIEN XT positioning: A SAPIEN XT transcatheter valve is positioned in the aortic root.
4. Position adjustment
SAPIEN XT adjustment: The position of the SAPIEN XT transcatheter valve is adjusted to obtain 40% of its body in the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) and 60% in the ascending aorta. In this view, the relative position is more 30% into the LVOT and 70% in the aorta.
5. Position before deployment
SAPIEN XT optimal position: The position of the SAPIEN XT transcatheter valve is adjusted to obtain 40% of its body in the left ventricular outflow tract and 60% in the ascending aorta.
6. Deployment
7. Final angio
Final aortogram: Contrast angiography confirms correct SAPIEN XT position and no aortic regurgitation.
Final aortogram in RAO: Contrast angiography in right anterior oblique projection confirms mild aortic regurgitation.
