Find all the latest content on bifurcation lesions published on this website.

The percutaneous treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions is very dynamic with an ongoing evolution in clinical approaches and techniques and the management of more complex cases continuing to evolve. Keep up-to-date about all these changes along with the latest research and devices as well as advances in imaging, the use of adjunctive pharmacotherapy, vascular access or understanding bleeding risks. The Controlled Antegrade and Antegrade Tracking (CAAT) technique for left main trunk bifurcation divided by a flap-like structure

29 Jan 2021

The authors present a case of PCI for left main trunk bifurcation divided by a flap-like structure in a 67-year-old man suffering from effort angina, in which they successfully used a novel tracking technique by modifying the reverse controlled antegrade and retrograde tracking (CART), which they called...

Advancement in bifurcation and renal denervation – The right procedure for the right patient?

13 Dec 2020 – From AICT-AsiaPCR 2020

Watch this session to learn more about how and when to select DK crush technique or provisional stenting in bifurcation cases, the pros and cons of both techniques, as well as patient selection for renal denervation in the treatment of uncontrolled hypertension.

Three-dimensional optical coherence tomography-guided double kissing crush stenting

14 Dec 2020

The authors present a case of percutaneous coronary intervention for bifurcation lesion in a 73-year-old man suffering from effort angina, in which they successfully performed double kissing crush stenting using optical coherence tomography.

Anatomical attributes of clinically relevant diagonal branches in patients with left anterior descending coronary artery bifurcation lesions

13 Oct 2020

This study aimed to investigate the anatomical attributes determining myocardial territory of diagonal branches and to develop prediction models for clinically relevant branches using MPI and CCTA.

Multicentre, randomised comparison of two-stent and provisional stenting techniques in patients with complex coronary bifurcation lesions: the DEFINITION II trial

22 Jul 2020

DEFINITION-II adds to the evidence that an upfront 2-stent strategy may be most appropriate in true complex bifurcation lesions.

Clinical outcomes following coronary bifurcation PCI techniques: a systematic review and network meta-analysis comprising 5,711 patients

07 Jul 2020

The main message of this study is that DK-crush was associated with fewer MACE, driven by lower rates of repeat revascularisation, whereas no significant differences among techniques were observed for cardiac death, myocardial infarction and stent thrombosis.
