An 80-year-old woman with a medical history including type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, breast cancer treated with radical mastectomy and chemotherapy in 2016, moderate mitral regurgitation, severe tricuspid regurgitation, and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) with an estimated ejection fraction of 45%. Her past medical history also includes pulmonary embolism in 2018 and an unsuccessful surgical repair of patent ductus arteriosus in 1986. She is a current smoker and has undergone right and left cardiac catheterisation as part of screening for possible mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (MV-TEER).
