A patient with a severely calcified coronary artery lesion underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using a Wadge non-compliant (NC) scoring balloon under optical coherence tomography (OCT) guidance. Heavily calcified lesions often resist standard balloon dilatation, making adequate lesion preparation critical to ensure optimal stent expansion and reduce complications.
The Wadge NC scoring balloon was used to achieve controlled plaque modification, applying focused force to fracture calcified segments.
