Stent loss and coronary perforation: how to deal with

Session comprising selected EuroPCR 2024 Clinical Case submissions

Facilitators: S. Saito, C. T. Chin

Summary

This session explores the management of challenging complications during percutaneous coronary interventions, such as stent loss and coronary perforation. The presenters share case studies that demonstrate various techniques and strategies used to address these complications, including the use of CTO wires for distal wire perforation, managing wire breakage and stent accordion, and dealing with a persistently leaking coronary perforation. The session emphasizes the importance of having a comprehensive understanding of bailout options and the ability to quickly and effectively respond to these unexpected situations.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Distal wire perforation management in tortuous anatomy facilitated by CTO wire
  • Wire breakage and stent accordion during TAP technique
  • What to expect from rotational atherectomy (unusual complication in acute coronary syndrome patient)
  • Guidewire entrapment within the struts of right coronary artery stent
  • Coronary stent dislodgement associated with self-expandable TAVR valve
  • Creeping stent
  • Is it possible to dilate a subintimally implanted Papyrus PK stent after five years?
