Summary

This session offers comprehensive education on the use of adjunct devices in complex PCI, focusing on different microcatheter designs and their optimal handling. It includes case-based illustrations demonstrating microcatheter applications, guidance on utilizing pre-shaped angled microcatheters in difficult anatomies, and the pivotal role of extension guide catheters in resolving complex procedural challenges.

Learning Objectives

  • To learn the different types of microcatheters and how to better handle and optimise their use
  • To discover how to utilise various different microcatheters in complex PCI
  • To learn how to appropriate use a pre-shaped angle microcatheter in challenging vascular anatomies

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Introduction
  • Microcatheter design in understanding how to appropriately utilise them for optimal performance
  • Case illustrations on the use of microcatheters in different complex PCI procedures
  • Case review on how best to utilise an angled microcatheter in angulated side-branch/vessel.
  • Extension guide catheters: a lifesaver for some “sticky situations”
