Drug-eluting balloon in calcified lesions and complex lesions
Supported by Medtronic
Spokesperson:
F. Alfonso
Summary
This session explores the application of drug-eluting balloons (DCB) in managing calcified and complex coronary lesions. Emphasis is placed on identifying appropriate lesions for a DCB-only strategy, the critical role of vessel preparation prior to drug delivery, and the long-term physiological assessment following treatment, supported by clinical case examples.
Learning Objectives
- To identify calcified lesions where a DCB strategy only makes sense, after good lesion modification
- To understand the importance of proper vessel preparation before drug delivery in calcified vessels
- To discuss about physiology assessment at long term after DCB and calcified lesions
