Inflammation and cardiovascular risk

Session comprising selected EuroPCR 2026 abstract submissions

Moderators: K. Alhabib, I. Seropian

Summary

Exploring the interplay between inflammation and cardiovascular risk, this session reviews contemporary research on residual risk post-PCI, inflammatory markers in coronary artery disease especially in type 2 diabetes and ACS, and prognostic tools including lipoprotein(a) and systemic inflammation indices.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Contemporary PCI in octogenarians: a propensity-matched analysis from 51,271 patients
  • Residual cardiovascular risk after contemporary PCI
  • Association of inflammation and extent of coronary artery disease in type 2 diabetes and ACS
  • Predictive value of the TyG and systemic inflammation for MACE: a ten-year prospective cohort study
  • Age-stratified performance of the MIRACLE2 score for neurological outcome prediction after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
