Summary

This session explores the evolving objectives of pulmonary embolism treatment, highlighting the shift from simple patient stabilisation to a more comprehensive approach to recovery. It introduces the novel Transforming Fixation (TFX) technology and its role in improving catheter stability and access to the pulmonary vasculature. Drawing on clinical evidence, including findings from the SPIRARE II study, the session examines how TFX-enabled interventions can enhance haemodynamic outcomes and right ventricular function, helping to inform more effective therapeutic strategies.

Learning Objectives

  • To discuss treatment objectives in pulmonary embolism in the context of an evolving landscape, including the role of hemodynamic measures
  • To understand the clinical application of a novel transforming fixation (TFX) technology in relation to catheter stabilisation and pulmonary vascular access
  • To interpret emerging clinical evidence assessing hemodynamic and right ventricular function changes in pulmonary embolism following TFX-enabled intervention
