Expanding the horizon - Trials addressing unchartered territories in coronary and structural heart
Sponsored by Meril
Summary
New clinical evidence is pushing coronary and structural heart therapy into areas that were previously uncertain or inconsistently defined, with multiple landmark trials now shaping future practice.
Among the studies discussed in this EuroPCR 2026 session, are SORT OUT XII, START YOUNG, BISCUSPID, LANDMARK 2 and RESTORE Global, covering a broad spectrum from bioresorbable scaffolds and drug-coated balloons to complex PCI and structural heart interventions including TAVI. Each contributes a different perspective on how treatment strategies are evolving across disease domains.
Rather than isolated advances, these data are increasingly converging on shared principles such as earlier intervention, more selective device use and refinement of patient selection in both coronary and valvular disease.
Taken together, this body of evidence reflects a field in transition, where ongoing trials are actively redefining how coronary and structural heart disease are approached in everyday practice.
Learning Objectives
- To discover emerging clinical evidence in BRS/DCB and complex PCI
- To learn about the trials in TAVI and structural heart space which can redefine patient treatment options
