Breaking the calcium challenge: the power of Hertz with LithiX intravascular lithotripsy

Summary

Calcified coronary lesions remain a major challenge in PCI, particularly when lesion rigidity limits device delivery and optimal stent expansion.

This EuroPCR 2026 session focuses on contemporary calcium modification strategies and the role of the Hertz contact intravascular lithotripsy (HC-IVL) system in simplifying treatment of complex calcified disease. Discussions highlight device deliverability, procedural workflow and practical decision-making in challenging anatomies.

Case-based examples illustrate the management of resistant calcified lesions, while clinical evidence from the PINNACLE I and MY-IVL studies, alongside real-world experience, supports the safety, effectiveness and ease of use of the LithiX HC-IVL technology.
