Coronary Interventions: EuroPCR 2025 highlights
PCR Highlights
Summary
At EuroPCR 2025, Rasha Al-Lamee, Nieves Gonzalo, and Thomas Cuisset highlighted key advances in coronary interventions, with a strong emphasis on managing complex cases—particularly calcified lesions.
Throughout the Course, LIVE cases and expert hotlines showcased dedicated devices and evolving strategies designed specifically for these challenging lesions. Advanced imaging techniques, including intracoronary imaging and CT, featured prominently in hands-on sessions, offering critical support in procedure planning and optimisation.
Complex patients were also at the forefront, with a LIVE case focusing on a TAVI candidate presenting distal left main disease. Notably, the FAITAVI trial results were presented, comparing angio-guided versus physiology-guided PCI in this high-risk population.
Physiology was a recurring theme across sessions, underscoring its expanding role in contemporary coronary care.
Lastly, the course marked the 20th anniversary of EuroIntervention, a landmark journal that continues to shape the field of interventional cardiology.
