PCR is proud to commemorate the 40th anniversary of angioplasty by setting up a retrospective exposition that retraces the major milestones in the history of interventional cardiology.
This project is the result of a passionate exchange between the members of the PCR Board and a group of young practitioners who expressed sincere interest in learning about the origins, evolution and future of the interventional cardiology field.
The celebration will be the central theme of the Course, including the Opening Ceremony, Expo Inauguration Cocktail, Exclusive « Meet the Pioneers » session, Daily Wire coverage... And a fully dedicated section on PCRonline.com to extend the experience and the sharing of knowledge.
After EuroPCR, the Expo will travel to other PCR meetings with expanded content (structural heart / TAVI, peripheral..).
The exposition will be located on the 3rd floor of the Palais des Congrès during EuroPCR 2017, in a quiet and dedicated area, so that the Course participants can immerse themselves in the early days of this pioneering journey.
Participants will navigate through twelve interactive modules including a history timeline and a gallery of early devices among others. The aim is to share history and learning, not to glorify the past.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to contribute and expand the exposition. As for any other PCR initiative, this project will be made By and For participants.
Focusing on the early years, the exposition will highlight the pioneering and audacious spirit required to achieve new frontiers and it will travel and expand to other PCR Courses all throughout the year.
