EuroPCR 2022 – Local Pods

Discover more about the organisation of these regional gatherings of peers

Warm thanks to all who submitted a request to organise a Local Pod; the application process is now closed.

Pods are a great way to follow #EuroPCR with a group of registered local peers who are not in a position to travel to France, and they also allow the programme to be adapted to meet regional educational needs. Read on to find out more!

EuroPCR Local Pods

What is a Local Pod?

It is a group of physicians, fellows, nurses and/or allied professionals, etc - who gather at their own initiative to follow the Course together.

Who can initiate a Local Pod?

A physician, an institution, a hospital group, a local or national society.

Who can be a Podmaster?

The person in charge of organising the Pod must be a physician. Kindly keep in mind that the Podmaster cannot physically attend the Course in Paris, being the local host of his/her guests, and required to lead discussions during dedicated times.

Who handles logistics?

These remain the entire responsibility of the Podmaster, who can team up with local Industry Partners for organisational support if wished. The gathering must of course be in full compliance with the corresponding country’s sanitary protocol.

Is there an attached cost?

There is no licencing fee for the organisation of a Local Pod. The Podmaster must simply ensure that all participants are duly registered. Depending on the Pod’s size, a preferential registration rate will be granted.

The advantages of a Local Pod

  • Claim CME credits for your online participation in the Scientific Programme
  • Exchange face-to-face with Pod participants on your topics of interest
  • Sign comments and questions under a Group Name on the platform’s live chat
  • Gain enhanced visibility on the EuroPCR official website and social media
  • Access all on-demand content for 3 months after the Course

How did this great idea kick off?

In November 2020, at a time when travel was not possible, Local Pods were initiated to boost global outreach during the PCR Valves e-Course, which reunited local participants connecting from Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan and the U.S.A. The concept met with such success that it was carried on for EuroPCR 2021 and PCR London Valves 2021.
