- Research activities of the Host Centre: Research is an integral part of our fellowship programme. Our centre combines high-volume interventional cardiology with internationally recognized translational and clinical research in structural heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, invasive hemodynamics and coronary physiology.
Fellows actively participate in single-centre studies, large multicentre registries, investigator-initiated trials and international randomized controlled trials. The close integration of clinical practice and research provides excellent opportunities to initiate retrospective and prospective research projects, publish in high-impact cardiovascular journals and present original work at major international meetings including EuroPCR and PCR London Valves.
- Experience in hosting fellows: Our centre has extensive experience in training national and international fellows in structural and interventional cardiology. Since 2014, we have hosted more than 15 fellows from Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia, offering individualized clinical and research fellowships tailored to different career paths. Fellows are fully integrated into our multidisciplinary Heart Team, catheterization laboratories, research programmes and educational activities. Many former fellows have successfully pursued careers in academic and interventional cardiology.

Coronary & Hemodynamic Interventions:
- 5,000 coronary angiographies annually
- High-volume complex PCI, including CTO, calcium modification and mechanical circulatory support (MCS)
- Coronary physiology programme (FFR, RFR, coronary microvascular function and vasospasm assessment)
- Advanced invasive hemodynamics, including exercise RHC and pressure-volume loop analyses
Structural:
- 600 transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures annually (one of the world's largest programmes for transcatheter treatment of pure aortic regurgitation)
- 300 mitral and tricuspid valve interventions annually (nationally and internationally recognized expertise in mitral and tricuspid TEER, large TTVR and TMVR programmes)
- ACHD programm, including pulmonary valve interventions
- 100 ASD / PFO interventions, 70 LAA-Occluder annually
- Advanced multimodality structural imaging (CT, ICE, 3D echocardiography)
- Novel structural heart failure interventions (atrial shunts, neuromodulation, ventricular restoration)
