Whether you have travelled from near or far, or are connecting from behind your screens, allow us to wish you a particularly warm welcome to #PCRLV 2021. It is amazing to be together again, both in person and on-line!
Not so long ago...
In November 2019, almost exactly two years ago, we closed our 10th anniversary edition that had gathered 3,000+ on-site participants and 1,000+ online learners. Delighted by the general enthusiasm, we invited our audience to step on stage for a massive group photo. As we crowded together, shaking hands and looking forward to meeting again soon, little did we know what awaited us…
Rising to the challenge in 2020
As well as an unprecedented healthcare crisis, the pandemic provided a serious obstacle to the essential continuing medical education of our community. While giving high priority to our hospitals and patients, we simultaneously rose to the task of organising an exclusively online and successful PCR Valves e-Course with 6,000+ participants.
Rebuilding continuing education
For this 2021 edition of PCR London Valves, we have built on that experience, implemented new tools and grasped the opportunity to re-think and re-structure an innovative virtual environment in which on-site participants become the live studio audience for a simultaneous live-streamed Scientific Programme.
Benefits for worldwide practitioners
The health crisis has accelerated the world’s shift towards virtual education. A positive by product is increased global outreach and scientific inclusion. Indeed, many physicians who would not normally have been able to travel to #PCRLV (even before the pandemic) can now join an online Course tailored for a highly interactive experience.
Nothing beats being face-to-face
In-person participation must and will continue. What better way to share our knowledge and skills than face-to-face, whilst also enjoying the chance to catch up with friends and network with peers? We are confident that those joining on site in London will really appreciate the opportunity for hands-on experience in the Training Village, time spent with colleagues in the PCR Companions Lounge, and exchanges with our valued Industry Partners.
We trust all of you will feel the positive energy that has gone into preparation of this edition. Do not hesitate to participate and raise your hands in the new way - on the app if you are on site, or in the chatbox if you are online!
