In the presented case, Dr. M. Taramasso describes a case of transpical TMVI with Tendyne valve to treat recurrent MR after transcatheter direct annuloplasty.
Why do you think your submission made it into this year’s Top 3 Best Cases?
It is a FIM demonstration of the feasibility of an important concept: TMVI with tendon is feasible after transcatheter annuloplasty.
What kind of impact do you think your Case — which is now officially part of this year’s Programme — will have on the PCR London Valves community?
It will hopefully open the door to this approach in the treatment of similar cases.
What are the fundamental learnings the community will be able to draw out from your Case presentation?
I believe there are two major points to consider from the Case I will be presenting:
- With annuloplasty we keep the door open to TMVI in case of failure
- TMVI after direct annuloplasty is feasible and technically easy to perform
What are some of the reasons that drove you to submit for this year’s Programme? How do you think this achievement will influence your career?
I think PCR London Valves is a "must go" for any physician involved in the field of structural valve intervention. I always try to give my contribution.
Tips for a successful PCR Submission by Dr. M. Taramasso:
A successful Clinical case submission requires consideration of more than the technical aspects:
