PCR London Valves 2019 – Best cases submitted this year
Discover all the winners of the Call for Clinical Cases!
For the first time this year at #PCRLV, there were not one but two competition categories for submitters of clinical cases:
- the overall Top 3 clinical cases
- the best-graded submission from each of 5 different world regions
The grading process was, as always, blinded and anonymous. As one same case won in both categories, discover here a total of 7 winners!

Commenting on PCR London Valves’ new initiative to reward and showcase the best clinical cases submitted from different world regions, Martin Andreas said it was:
“... an important step to identify and connect clinical experts. Furthermore, I do believe that this enables also younger colleagues to contribute to the discussion and highlight their clinical work”

Ahmed Ashraf Eissa - Best-graded submission Africa

When questioned about how he felt about being the best-graded submission from his world region, Ahmed Ashraf Eissa replied:
“It’s a great honour to be one of the presenters this year at PCR London Valves.”

Enas Khalifa - Best-graded submission Middle East

- Case Title: Ruptured pseudoaneurysm of the mitral-aortic intervalvular fibrosa as a rare complication of TAVR
To the question why she thinks it is important to participate in Courses such as PCR London Valves, Enas Khalifa replied:
“No matter how experienced you are at your field, everyone can learn. The educational aspect of a conference exposes participants to new ways of conducting work and helps them discover how to be more creative.”

Masaki Nakashima - Best-graded submission Asia
Sendai Kousei Hospital – Sendai, Japan
Commenting on the new initiative to take on board full participation costs for submitters of the best-graded case from each world region, Masaki Nakashima stated:
“I believe that such rewards as this will encourage more submissions from all over the world.”
