Stroke Prevention Day

This new initiative consisted of three sessions built by experts on the topic, including a highly interactive 'Learning' session on left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) and Case discussions on patent foramen ovale (PFO).

A dedicated Imaging Day

This spotlight on imaging technologies was aimed at all interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, anaesthesiologists and imaging specialists looking to perfect their skills. One notable case-based session focused on the aortic valve met with great interest.

Simulation-based learning

The Course offered several small-group hands-on sessions where participants enjoyed 'face-to-face' training by experts in their fields, allowing them to perfect their practical skills. One session was tailor-made for cardiac surgeons to learn wiring skills.

Learning sessions

These eight extremely educational PCR-branded sessions maximised interaction between Facilitators and participants. Three sessions on 'basics' were offered to those at the beginning of their careers, two in the Japanese language and one in English.

Heart Team session

Following its success at the previous edition, Heart Teams from different Asia Pacific and European countries again gathered together in a dedicated session. It included two real-life Heart Teams from the Japanese LIVE Centre. The session was an occasion to compare strategies and for lively discussions between surgeons, interventional cardiologists, nurses and allied professionals.

Co-medical sessions in Japanese

Built By and For the nurses and allied professionals of the region, these tutorial co-medical sessions introduced Japanese speaking participants to the fundamental concepts of TAVI and MitraClip procedures.

A new LIVE demonstration experience!

During two LIVE sessions on TAVI participants benefitted from a brand new LIVE Centre at Shonan Kamakura General Hospital in Kanagawa, Japan. The renowned interventional cardiologist and Course Director, Shigeru Saito was the Main Operator for the demonstrations, and these highly informative and educational sessions met with great success!

Innovation in the field

At the Course innovation was particularly highlighted during a session on ‘Mitral and tricuspid valves: New technologies on the horizon’. This exciting and informative new session enabled participants to learn all about innovative new technologies.
