In remembrance of Michele Pighi

Our most heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and loved ones of Michele Pighi who passed away on 30 September 2022 at the age of 39

The PCR Community mourns the passing of Michele Pighi, Interventional Cardiologist, as the result of a tragic accident.

Michele worked as Associate Professor alongside Flavio Ribichini, Director of the School of Cardiovascular Diseases of the School of Medicine of Verona, Italy, and was a dedicated and passionate volunteer and participant in so many of our activities. He was an active member of the Euro4C Editorial Team, a member of the PCRonline Board and Journal Club, and managed this year's EuroPCR Daily Wire project. Among his academic contributions are the fact that he was an author of a chapter of the PCR-EAPCI Textbook, as well as a section editor for EuroIntervention.

Michele was a true gentleman, a kind-hearted and generous person, who endeared himself to his colleagues, his patients and all those he came into contact with, including the PCR and Europa Group staff. He will be sorely missed, not only for his contribution to interventional cardiology and to PCR, but mostly because of the person he was.

Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Michele's family, colleagues and loved ones - may he rest in peace.
