PCR: a home for everyone in the field of interventional cardiology
New chapter, new future
In July 2025, a unilateral decision of the ESC closed a chapter on nearly two decades of successful collaboration between ESC-EAPCI and PCR-Europa - a partnership first established in 2006 and most recently renewed in 2023.
This partnership was born from a shared vision in 2006, when creation of the EAPCI was made possible by the combined commitment of Professor Jean Marco (founder of PCR), Marc Doncieux (founder of Europa Group), and the ESC leadership of the time. PCR-Europa offered to share its own Course (EuroPCR, founded in 1989) and journal (EuroIntervention, founded in 2005) with the ESC to allow elevation of the former Working Group 10 to the status of an ESC Association, thereby uniting the entire interventional community.
Over time, further resources were shared, including PCR London Valves (2009), the PCR-EAPCI Textbook (launched in 2012), and the EAPCI-PCR Fellows Course (founded in 2014), allowing EAPCI members to benefit from an educational and scientific partnership managed by PCR-Europa.
Today, in a new era, PCR remains steadfast in its mission to serve patients worldwide by supporting the education of everyone involved in the field of interventional cardiology. For us, this means creating open spaces where knowledge, experience, and practice can be shared freely - without conditions or restrictions. PCR has always been, and will continue to be, a home for all those who wish to advance their expertise and contribute to the field.
We firmly believe that collaboration - not exclusion - is what drives progress in our discipline. Every physician and every healthcare professional is welcome at our Courses, webinars, and educational platforms, and all are encouraged to contribute to our journals and publications.
By ensuring that every voice has a place, we strengthen our community and improve care for patients worldwide.
