PCR questions and answers
We know that many in our community have questions, and that clarity matters. Here, you’ll find straightforward answers that reflect our shared values: transparency, collaboration, and a continued focus on advancing patient care together.
Here from the beginning
EuroPCR evolved from a series of educational courses initiated in 1989 by Professor Jean Marco to share clinical knowledge and experience in the newly emerging field of interventional cardiology. Some years later in 2005, EuroIntervention was launched by PCR as an academic journal and home for research in the field. Today, the PCR educational offering continues to evolve with PCRonline.com, webinars and publications, and several annual courses throughout the world, including PCR London Valves, the world’s foremost meeting dedicated to valve and structural interventions.
Well, you can!
EuroIntervention is the official PCR journal, a leading academic journal in interventional cardiology and the reference for coronary, valve and structural interventions. Furthermore, its impact factor of 9.5 places it within the top quartile of cardiology journals worldwide.
The goal of EuroIntervention is to provide the highest quality of scientific and clinical research to readers, publish data that further innovation, and add value to clinical practice.
The journal is open to anyone who wishes to submit high quality manuscripts in the field of cardiovascular interventional medicine. We welcome all submissions, whether they are original research, consensus documents, state-of-the-art reviews or research correspondence!
Open to all, driven by excellence
PCR Courses are committed to the highest level of academic quality and collaboration, with content that is designed to enable shared experience, promotion of innovation, and education of the community to ensure the best possible patient care.
PCR Courses are “By and For” the worldwide cardiovascular community and offer the opportunity to take an active part in highly educational programmes, by sharing their best scientific abstracts and clinical cases... Whatever your discipline - and whether you are a presenter or programme builder - participating in a PCR Course can be the chance to develop your field of expertise and gain recognition in the field.
Yes, of course!
All PCR activities are open to anyone who wants to share their knowledge, experience and practice in cardiovascular interventional medicine. We are proud to work with hundreds of physician volunteers from all around the world, and tens of thousands more who participate in our educational and scientific activities.
Through PCR Courses and webinars, educational platforms, and publications including the PCR Textbook and EuroIntervention journal, PCR is always open to newcomers who are committed to their patients and passionate about our field.
So you are very welcome, wherever you are in the world and regardless of your area of interest!
It’s in the details
It’s true that we are not a scientific or professional society, but rather a happy gathering of the global interventional community, united by shared values, objectives and passion, and a common mission to share knowledge, experience and practice. Nevertheless, PCR has been committed to scientific integrity and high quality education since its inception. EuroIntervention, our academic journal and a reference in the field, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and comprehensive, peer-reviewed science is at the heart of the PCR Textbook.
Thousands of scientific abstracts are submitted by the community to our Courses every year and late-breaking trials feature prominently, with special visibility for major trials that fill evidence gaps and advance interventional care. The PCR Trials Book is also a very popular resource that is appreciated by thousands of colleagues worldwide.
Innovation in interventional cardiology is an essential element of our Courses. Dedicated tracks and specific events, such as PCR Innovators’ Day, allow all members of the innovation community (including inventors, investors, start-up and major companies, regulatory experts and clinicians actively engaged in the development of new therapies) to gather and share novel research and exciting new technologies.
In short, PCR has always been (and will always be) a home for those who wish to advance their expertise and contribute to our field. Evidence, along with experience and practice, remain the three essential pillars that support and inspire our work.
