Expanding the indications of DCB for complex PCI scenarios
With the collaboration of the APIC - Portuguese Association of Cardiovascular Intervention, Swiss Working Group of Interventional Cardiology and Working Group on Interventional Cardiology, Macedonian Society of Cardiology
Summary
This session, with the collaboration of various national societies, explores the use of drug-coated balloons (DCBs) in complex PCI scenarios, such as multivessel disease, left main, bifurcations, CTOs, or myocardial infarction. It includes case presentations and discussions on the procedural techniques, patient selection, and lesion preparation when using DCBs in these complex scenarios, as well as the key mechanisms of action involved in DCB PCI.
Learning Objectives
- To discuss complex scenarios where DCBs could be an option (as multivessel disease, left main, bifurcations, CTO, or myocardial infarction)
- To evaluate the procedural techniques when using DCBs in complex PCI, including patient selection and lesion preparation
- To identify the key components and mechanisms of action involved in DCB PCI
