Optimising the procedural techniques to treat calcified coronary lesions

Session comprising selected EuroPCR 2024 Clinical Case submissions

Facilitators: H. Amin, M. Fineschi, J.K. Padhi

Summary

This session will provide insights into various techniques and strategies for treating severely calcified coronary lesions. Participants will learn about the use of IVUS guidance, rotational atherectomy, and other plaque modification tools to overcome challenging calcified lesions and achieve optimal stent deployment.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Dealing with excessively calcified coronary lesions: planning the steps to become a "rock" star
  • Heavily calcified disease
  • Failed stent expansion due to severe calcified lesion. Second time to treat
  • The new kid on the block
  • When all the criteria for a complex high-risk pci are here, don't fail to prepare
  • Use of lithotripsy in a calcified saphenous vein graft
  • Breaking the chains: a triumph over calcium-mediated, un-dilatable in-stent restenosis
