Challenging CTO Interventions - Part 2

Session comprising selected GulfPCR-GIM 2025 clinical case submissions

Facilitators: O. Al Shammeri, A. Firouzi

Summary

This session addresses the complexities of chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions with a collection of challenging cases employing advanced techniques. Topics include IVUS-assisted recanalisation, hybrid approaches incorporating 3D wiring, retrograde interventions after antegrade failure, and management of procedural complications such as vessel rupture. The session also examines diagnostic challenges differentiating STEMI from CTO and presents innovative strategies for success in complex multivessel disease.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • IVUS-assisted recanalisation of a CTO with a blunt stump
  • Hybrid approach to a three-vessel disease case with 3D wiring technique for CTO
  • When the vessel breaks
  • Surprise! It’s a CTO!
