All you need to know of DAPT in ACS
Anchorperson:
G. Cayla
Spokesperson:
J. Siller-Matula
Summary
This session provides an in-depth review of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS), focusing on strategies for safe de-escalation and P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy to reduce bleeding risk without compromising ischemic protection. It also covers optimizing antithrombotic therapy in patients on oral anticoagulation and practical guidance for switching antiplatelet agents across clinical scenarios.
Learning Objectives
- To understand when and how de-escalation or P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy can safely reduce bleeding without increasing ischaemic risk in ACS patient
- To learn evidence-based strategies to optimise antithrombotic therapy in ACS patients requiring oral anticoagulation, balancing ischaemic protection and bleeding risk
- To acquire practical guidance on switching between antiplatelet agents to maintain efficacy and safety in different clinical scenarios
