High-risk PCI: how to optimise the result

Session comprising selected EuroPCR 2026 clinical cases submissions

Summary

Focused on high-risk PCI, this session presents strategies to optimize procedural outcomes in complex cases. Discussions include contemporary approaches to challenging coronary anatomy, the role of balloon aortic valvuloplasty as a bridge to Impella-supported interventions, advanced mechanical support and thrombectomy in cardiogenic shock related to left main thrombosis, and specialized low-contrast PCI techniques addressing concurrent heart and renal failure. Clinical experiences with Impella CP-assisted PCI in severely impaired left ventricular function post-CABG are also examined.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • A modern approach to tackle rocky roads
  • Balloon aortic valvuloplasty as a bridge to Impella-protected high-risk PCI
  • Advanced mechanical support and thrombectomy in left main thrombosis–related cardiogenic shock
  • Low contrast nano-crush PCI: managing heart and renal failure
  • Impella CP-assisted PCI of the last remaining vessel in a CABG patient with severely impaired LVEF
