Summary

In this session focused on epicardial and microcirculatory dysfunction, discuss how to treat both a 72-year-old smoker man with HTN, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, who presented with angina and dyspnea with moderate exertion over the last months, and a 69-year-old ex-smoker man with HTN and untreated LDL 125 mg/dl who presented with chest pain of unknown origin started about 6 months ago and shortness of breath on exertion.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the value of intravascular physiology to guide your management of epicardial disease
  • To understand how a stepwise physiological approach can identify the cause of angina in your patient, with or without obstructive disease
  • To understand how finding the cause of angina is a key step in deciding on the treatment plan
