Undilatable calcified lesion with balloon - LIVE case
Calcified lesion treated with rotablator and lithotripsy guided by IVUS - With the collaboration of Euro4C
Summary
A 66-year-old male with a history of PAD, COPD, diabetes, and an LV function of 44% presented with unstable angina. Coronary angiography revealed a severe and heavily calcified RCA lesion undilatable with a balloon. The patient was referred to a centre specializing in calcified lesion treatment.
Using a right femoral approach and guided by IVUS, the team performed rotablation with three successive burrs (1.5 mm, 1.75 mm, 2.0 mm), followed by IVL, before implanting two stents.
