TAV-in-TAV complications

Facilitators: D. Blackman, C. Fraccaro

Summary

Focus on the complexities and challenges of TAV-in-TAV procedures in this session. Topics include planning valve-in-valve TAVI for aortic bioprosthetic valve regurgitation, managing anatomical challenges such as left ventricular outflow tract calcium and large annulus, and addressing severe bicuspid valve stenosis with impaired ventricular function. The session also discusses strategies for managing bioprosthesis deterioration in elderly patients.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Valve-in-valve TAVI for aortic bioprosthetic valve regurgitation: planning ahead to keep the flow fed
  • When TAVI valve-in-valve takes a twist
  • Left ventricular outflow tract calcium and large anatomy – predictably unpredictable
  • Decompensated severe bicuspid aortic valve stenosis, extremely large annulus and severe left ventricule dysfunction
  • Managing bioprosthesis deterioration in the elderly: first steps to deal with a future problem
