New tools for risk stratification in STEMI

Session comprising selected EuroPCR 2026 abstract submissions

Moderators: Y. Ahn, L. Holmvang

Summary

This session highlights novel tools and scores for risk stratification in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. It covers prognostic indices such as the index of microcirculatory resistance, the PREDICT-STEMI score, thrombus characteristics, sex differences in outcomes, renal impairment impacts, and benefits of complete revascularization strategies.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • Prognostic value of the index of microcirculatory resistance in patients with ACS
  • Derivation and validation of the PREDICT-STEMI score in STEMI patients undergoing PCI
  • Thrombus age in STEMI and large artery atherosclerosis related stroke
  • Higher early thrombotic and stroke risk in women after primary PCI for calcified STEMI lesions
  • Acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease on three-year clinical outcome in 3281 AMI patients with PCI
  • Long-term benefit of complete revascularisation in STEMI is limited to three-vessel disease
