PCR Submissions: Tips and guidelines
Find here all the tips for a successful PCR submission and presentation
Preparing to submit or your work has just been selected to be part of a PCR Course Programme? Find here the official submission guidelines, as well as some useful tips to help you prepare an outstanding presentation! All five categories of submissions are covered:

Important note: authors must notify their co-authors about the selection and presentation of their submission at PCR Courses.
You are preparing to submit
- GOOD TO KNOW - for all categories of #PCRSubmissions
- Only completed submissions will enter the review process and all incomplete drafts will be deleted from the system
- Once the closing date has passed, you will not be able to modify your work
- You will receive an acknowledgement e-mail for each submission. If you do not receive an e-mail, please check your SPAM or JUNK folder

Your submission has been selected for a PCR Course
- GOOD TO KNOW - for all categories of #PCRSubmissions
- An official invitation to participate is sent to presenters which includes access to their Guest Website where they can accept/refuse their invitations and find full details of their session
- If you cannot attend the Course, you can name a colleague to present your submission on your behalf and inform us at [email protected]
- Your submission must be uploaded at the Speaker Service Centre on site at least 2 hours before your presentation (An upload link will be sent to Speakers prior to the Course, at EuroPCR only)
- There is no restriction on your presentation's file size when you upload it at the Speaker Service Centre
- Your certificate of presentation will be available online through your My PCR account, in the My Certificate section, as from the last day of the Course

Technical guidelines for submitting an abstract
Kindly note that failure to comply will disqualify your submission.
- Method
Please build your abstract as per the following framework:- Aims (ideally one or two sentences)
- Methods and results
- Conclusions (ideally two or three sentences)
- Reminder
- Tables are not accepted in the abstract submission and selection process
- Your abstract must not exceed 3,500 characters, including spaces

Tips for preparing your abstract presentation
If your abstract is selected it will be published and downloadable on the official digital PCR Abstract Book. It can be presented in different formats, depending on the Course concerned. Submitters may stipulate their preference at EuroPCR, but the final decision will remain with the Board of Directors.
- Oral presentation
You will present your abstract in a thematic session on the official Course template, available on your Guest Website, 10 slides maximum (including title and disclosure), followed by a discussion. Chairpersons and Panellists will moderate the session.
The presentation must follow the below structure:- Why this study?
- What did we study?
- How was the study executed?
- What are the essential results?
- Why is this important?
- The essentials to remember
- e-Poster
Your abstract will be displayed as a one-slide e-Poster in the Posters’Lab for the entire duration of the Course. No oral presentation is scheduled. Please use the technical guidelines on your Guest Website and prepare your e-Poster using a 16:9 landscape Powerpoint template.
- Moderated e-Poster
Your abstract will be orally presented as a one-slide e-Poster in the Posters’Lab, in a thematic session with two Facilitators and followed by a discussion. It must be prepared in the same way as an e-Poster (please see above).
- PCR’S Got Talent (only at EuroPCR)
Specific criteria and guidelines apply for this unique stepwise competition, which begins with a challenging three-minute presentation without slides, in the elevator pitch fashion! Participants benefit from professional coaching between rounds and the winner receives the EuroPCR Best Abstract award and Guest Faculty status for the subsequent Course! It’s an experience which provides participants with solid advice which will prove useful for all their future presentations too. Tips for preparing your clinical case presentation
You will orally present your clinical case in a session moderated by Chairpersons or Facilitators. Your presentation will also be made available in the PCR mobile app and on PCRonline after the Course.

- Your presentation must not exceed 10 slides (including title and disclosure)
- Prepare your presentation on the official Course template, available on your Guest Website
- Once selected for presentation, you will be able to add videos to your submission
Tips for a good clinical case presentation:
Technical guidelines for submitting an image
Kindly note that failure to comply will disqualify your submission.
- The title should not give any indication of what is shown
- The image should raise questions and stimulate discussion
- The image should be a single high-quality image, with the best resolution possible.
- Image format must be: .pdf, .png, .jpg
- The description for the Selection Committee should reveal the case (no more than 1,000 characters, including spaces)
Tips for preparing the presentation of your image
Your image will be orally presented in a PCR-branded session moderated by Facilitators.
It will previously be published on PCRonline several weeks before the Course, open for comments and interactions.
You will have 15 minutes to present your image:
- 5 min: facilitated audience image interpretation (the Facilitator engages the audience to discuss the image)
- 5 min: image unveiled and key findings (the Author steps on stage and explains what is shown)
- 5 min: discussion and audience interaction (the Facilitator takes the discussion to a broader level)
Reminder:
- The title should not give any indication of what is shown and the image should raise questions and stimulate discussion.

- Your presentation must not exceed 7 slides (including title) without videos.

Tips for preparing the presentation of an innovation
Your Innovation will be selected either for PCR Innovators Day or for a thematic session at the dedicated PCR Course.
- If your presentation has reached the early first-in-man stage: presentation at PCR Course
- If your presentation has NOT reached the early first-in-man stage: PCR Innovators Day
Submitters may stipulate their preference but the final decision will remain with the Board of Directors.

Stages of study
The following stages of study are accepted:
- First-in-man
- Randomised clinical trial:
- First report – primary endpoints
- Secondary endpoints
- Trial update
- Registry
- Pathophysiological studies
Method
Please build your late-breaking trial as per the following framework (3,500 characters maximum, including spaces):
- Why this study?
- How was it executed?
- What were the essential results?
- Why is it important?
- Please list the device(s) / technology(ies) involved in this trial
- Only .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx formats are accepted.
- Your presentation must not exceed 10 slides (including title) without videos.

What you CANNOT do:
- Submit data that has already been presented
What you CAN do:
- Submit updates on previously reported trials (ex: long follow-ups or subgroup analysis and large, well-designed and appropriately conducted registries)
- Submit data that has already been published
Tips for preparing your late-breaking trial presentation
You will orally present your late-breaking trial in a thematic session, followed by a discussion with the panel and the audience.
- Your presentation must not exceed 10 slides (including title and disclosure)
- Prepare your presentation on the official Course template, available on your Guest Website
- Once selected for presentation, you will be able to add videos to your submission
