Season’s greetings from the PCR Chairman and Vice-Chairman
William Wijns and Jean Fajadet glance back at 2022 and look ahead to ever-increased momentum and new PCR initiatives in 2023

All the best for the new year!
Dear Colleagues, dear Friends, dear Companions,
Season’s greetings to all, as we take a moment to pause in what seems to be the ever-quickening pace of time… To glance back at 2022, and to look forward to a bright 2023!
A year of celebrations for PCR…
Over the past year there have been many reasons to celebrate at PCR, such as: 20 years of TAVI; 30 years of radial access; the 10-year anniversary of the visionary PCR-EAPCI Textbook; the 20th anniversary of PCRonline; the 200th issue of EuroIntervention and of course its formidable new impact factor of 7.728! One of the most heartwarming was the honouring of our nurses and allied professionals as they received the well-deserved Andreas Grüntzig Ethica Award at EuroPCR, in just recognition of their unswerving dedication, teamwork, experience and humanity.
The joyous return of on-site gatherings!
2022 was also a year when increasing numbers of you were able to enjoy getting back together in person at PCR Courses. Simultaneously, cutting-edge education was brought to the doorstep of those unable to travel. Thank you for the record-breaking participation rates and for your words of gratitude! They reward all those who invested so much time to ensure these innovative and highly interactive onsite/online gatherings met with such success.
New momentum…
We are confident that 2023 will see PCR Courses back to even fuller strength on-site, and reaching out worldwide more than ever before, thanks to the ever-growing effectiveness of our digital technologies. Upcoming editions will also benefit from an extra-special dose of impetus brought by new Board Members! We have recently already welcomed new Course Directors for EuroPCR, PCR London Valves, GulfPCR and AfricaPCR, with others to be announced shortly.
And new initiatives!
Over the coming year, we are excited about brand new PCR learning opportunities taking place, such as the PCR Imaging Valves Madrid workshop in March, and a certified 2-day Advanced Course on Transseptal Puncture in Milan, with the first session in April. Don’t hesitate to share news of these great initiatives with your colleagues, and stay tuned for more!
Setting the pace, for a bright future
Thus, as innovation in our field continues to gather speed, PCR continues to keep ahead of its time too, constantly enhancing and reinforcing its educational offers. For 2023, our purpose is as always to foster lifelong learning among our community, and to help you forge a brighter future for cardiovascular patients all around the globe.
On behalf of all at PCR, sincere good wishes for 2023!
