How can we improve the management of aortic stenosis in 2026?
Sponsored by Edwards Lifesciences
Summary
As aortic stenosis management continues to evolve, this EuroPCR 2026 session looks ahead to the challenges and opportunities shaping clinical practice in 2026. From implementing the latest guidelines in daily care to refining the timing of intervention, the discussion focuses on how earlier identification and treatment of severe aortic stenosis could improve both patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.
Through presentations including Is proactive surveillance of asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis possible in practice? and Should we be afraid of treating aortic stenosis patients too early?, faculty explore the shift from a reactive to a more proactive approach to patient management. The session also examines how AI-based solutions may support surveillance strategies, clinical decision-making and workflow optimisation in the years ahead.
As highlighted in the concluding remarks, “the paradigm has changed: the frontier has moved on from feasibility to now timing” — a key theme running throughout this forward-looking session on the future of aortic stenosis care.
