Coronary access following TAVI
This programme has been made available thanks to the in-kind support of Abbott, Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, Medtronic and Simulands
Anchorperson:

Summary
Using the anatomy and imaging section and simulators, our experts dissect the case of a typical TAVI patient, an 81-year-old male, former smoker, with hypertension, dyslipidemia, and gastric ulcer, symptomatic of effort dyspnea, with marked left ventricular hypertrophy and all the parameters of severe aortic stenosis, to address the issue of coronary access after TAVI in this session of PCR London Valves 2021.
Learning Objectives
- To appreciate the anatomical relation of the coronary ostia to the coronary cusps and commissures
- To fully understand how to obtain optimal fluoroscopic projections for coronary angiography and intervention
- To practice techniques for coronary intubation in the presence of a TAVI prosthesis using a patient-specific simulator
