Challenging TAVI

Facilitators: D. Dvir, B. Singh

Summary

This session addresses the complexities encountered in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in challenging anatomical settings. It reviews management of bicuspid valves with calcification, horizontal aorta, coronary artery anomalies, and navigation of difficult angles. Case studies illustrate techniques to optimize commissural alignment and strategies to address concerns such as small annular dimensions and wire challenges.

Presentations available when logged in:

  • TAVR in bicuspid type 0 with annular calcification, horizontal aorta, and anomalous right coronary artery origin
  • Overcoming challenging anatomy in TAVI
  • Twist and turns in TAVI: the buddy wire dilemma
  • Improving commissural alignment in TAVR using Evolut FX+: a case of hat marker inversion
  • How small is too small?
