Coronary vasomotor dysfunction is associated with cardiovascular events in patients with nonobstructive coronary artery disease

29 Mar 2024

In this large single centre registry investigators demonstrated that with the exception of endothelium independent epicardial coronary artery dysfunction, CVDys diagnosed by interventional functional assessment is correlated with adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events.

Coronary sinus reducer for the treatment of refractory angina: A randomised, placebo-controlled trial (ORBITA-COSMIC)

08 Apr 2024

Aaysha Cader interviews Rasha Al-Lamee and Michael Foley about the results of the ORBITA-COSMIC trial presented at ACC.24 in Atlanta.

Results showed that coronary sinus reducer relieved angina symptoms but lacked evidence of increased blood flow to the heart. While beneficial for refractory angina patients, its mechanism remains...

Medically treated nonischemic thin-cap fibroatheroma lesions versus fractional flow reserve-guided complete revascularization in diabetic patients

27 Feb 2024

This sub-analysis denotes that medically treated diabetic patients with FFR-negative, TCFA-carrying target lesions were associated with a higher rate event rate compared to angiographically similar ischemic target lesions that underwent revascularization.

How to choose a snare and how to create a snare in complex PCI scenarios

19 Dec 2023

Complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures are dramatically increasing in daily practice. Calcified coronary artery lesions and hostile cardiac anatomy may increase the risk of device dislodgment and/or malposition. In such situations, the use of a snare catheter is pivotal to retrieve and/or reposition the device.
