TAVI procedure access: transfemoral, trans-subclavian or transapical
Pre-procedural imaging to define access
The transfemoral access is a default approach among patients with complex anatomies. Luminal dimensions, calcification burden and tortuosity determine the suitability for this access. The transapical access is usually performed when a less invasive access (transfemoral or trans-subclavian) is not feasible.
